The cry to return to simpler living and begin utilizing natural products grows more pronounced everyday. In fact, I've included a link to the top 50 Blogs in Natural Living to support my theory that this is no quickly fading fad.
From CSA Farms (Community Supported Agriculture), to local Farmer's Markets, to grocery store products such as Nature's Promise and Amy's Organic Kitchen, we are seeing more and more affordable food options.
But it doesn't stop there. What we consume is only a piece of the puzzle. Reducing waste to keep landfills from poisoning our environment and water systems, fighting the usage of mercury-filled CFL light-bulbs, and standing up against the construction of additional nuclear plants are a few of the beginning steps.
Educating the general public is not easy - but we need to set the standard of knowledge and start getting a little louder about what scientific studies are revealing to us about our environmentand what it takes to enjoy a fairly healthy existence.
What's your greatest environmental/health concern right now?
I <3 nuclear power! as far as power output vs. carbon footprint + space + maintenance they are by FAR the cleanest, most efficient means of electricity right now. unless you include some of the theoretical stuff they have been working on in Australia, but that is theoretical.
ReplyDeletecfls do suck though!
I like you blog!
Smooches
I won't deny that it's "clean and efficient" energy compared to other options... but the massive accrual of radioactive waste is frightening.
ReplyDeleteSo what's going on in Australia... theoretically...?
Thanks for liking my blog! You should put stuff on your blog. :)
